Driver Manager

Hi Adrian, Thank you for your message. Very good question too. My first year at Avanti was spent in training. I started with 3 months in the classroom learning the rules of the railway, simulator training and LOTS of exams and assessments. I then went back to my home depot and started with a driver instructor to learn my routes and get lots of experience with driving trains. From starting to passing as a qualified driver was around 15 months. Still the best time of my driving career

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement Manager

My first year with Lumo was very exciting. Not many have the chance or opportunity to start from a blank canvas, create & develop a new unique customer travel experience within the rail industry. Most actions during the Lumo road map were time bound, making sure we kept to our Inaugural launch date. Bringing together all departments visions & ideas to life was an integral part of the development work which started some 5 years before being launched. Once launched, it was very much a tweaking processes, amending & progressing what worked & what needed a further enhancements. All this was to make sure we delivered a rail service beyond our customer expectations. Once we settled into business as usual, there was no time to sit back, we needed to keep the momentum & always look for improvements with innovation, making sure we stayed ahead of the field. Every now & then we face additional infrastructure disruption which keeps us on our toes, making sure our customers are safely on their way reaching their final destination, certainly sometimes challenging but very rewarding.
