Is it possible to drive a train with one arm?
Additional information
Hi GWR Team, I have registered to receive alerts for trainee driver roles in my area. My left arm is paralysed and I would like to understand whether my application could be considered and whether I would need to incorporate any adaptations? Do you have any existing drivers who may be impaired in this way? Look forward to hearing from you. Best regards, Dan

Good afternoon Dan, and a very Merry Christmas and New Year.
In reply to your message, the trainee driver recruitment process is open to all candidates who would like to apply. All candidates successful at shortlisting, interviews and psychometric assessments, are usually placed on a reserve list for the depot applied for, and if a role arises, they may be given a conditional offer. The conditional offer is dependent on a successful medical, CRB checks and references. The medical screening, is comprehensive and carried out by a medically qualified doctor, where we would ensure that the safety and compliance standards are achievable. The doctor would make the decision regarding whether a candidate would be suitable for a role, or whether a risk assessment may be possible, depending on the situation of each individual. GWR does not discriminate against any candidates applying for any roles, and in certain circumstances may consider reasonable adjustments wherever possible, depending on the needs of successful applicants, in relation to the requirements of the role.
If you need any more help and information, please reach back out and I would be happy to chat to you.
