Do you hire new employees from the U.S.? I am considering moving to England and have 20 years of railway experience.

Hi Nathan,
Thanks for reaching out. All hires would require the right to work in the UK to be employed within FirstGroup. If you have secured this then please keep an eye on the careers site for any suitable opportunities.
Good Luck.

How can you obtain or what type of visa would you required to have as a U.S. citizen to work in the UK? I have searched the UK government website, and it seems for most visas that they require you to have a sponsership already from an employer or have already accepted a job offer.

Hi Nathan,
We are unable to advise on any specifics about visas, you would need to contact the UK Government Home Office for guidance.
In terms of employer sponsorship, these opportunities really vary depending on the role as it would need to be critical to qualify for sponsorship. As such, sponsorship would usually only be possible for roles that require specialist skills or expertise that may not be readily available in the local labour market.
I hope that helps.
