Secondment opportunities are available to internal employees and are an opportunity to gain experience in another role. For external candidates this would translate as a fixed term contract, which would be for a set period of time outlined in the advert. This is a good opportunity to join the railway and gain exposure to the industry and to develop your skills.

Permanent positions are those which have no end date, meaning you would become a permanent employee.

All positions, regardless of if they're permanent or fixed term, will include a probationary period.
Employee benefits, such as free or discounted rail travel, would be available to those in both permanent and fixed term positions, normally becoming available once the probationary period has been successfully completed.
